Privacy Policy

Calclik AI ("we", "our", "us") respects your privacy. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and your rights. By using Calclik AI you agree to the practices below.

1. Data we collect

• Profile info you enter during onboarding: gender, age, height (cm), weight (kg), target weight, activity level, and goal. Used to compute your daily calorie and macro targets.
• Meal data: photos you scan (stored as base64 images in your account), meal names, portion sizes, calories, protein, carbs, fat, and the date/time logged.
• Voice recordings (only while you press to speak) — sent to OpenAI Whisper for transcription. Recordings are NOT stored on our servers after transcription.
• Weight log entries you create manually.
• Diet preferences (vegetarian, vegan, jain, halal, kosher, gluten-free) and fasting modes (Ramadan, Navratri, Lent, Ekadashi) you select.
• Payment metadata (subscription status, plan, expiry) when you upgrade to Premium. We do NOT store your card number, UPI ID, or CVV — purchases are handled entirely by Apple's App Store or Google Play Billing, via RevenueCat.

2. What we DON'T collect

• No name, no email, no phone number unless you explicitly enter them.
• No real-time location, no contacts, no browser history.
• No background recordings — the microphone is used only when you tap the mic button.

3. How we use your data

• Compute daily calorie and macro targets and progress.
• Send food images to OpenAI (GPT-4o) so the AI can estimate calories and nutrition for your meal. Images are processed in real time and a transcript of the result is stored with your account.
• Send voice recordings to OpenAI (Whisper) for transcription into text.
• Look up scanned barcodes via the public Open Food Facts database to fetch product nutrition.
• Show your meal history, streak, and weekly recap inside the app.

4. Third parties

• OpenAI — processes food images, voice transcriptions, and meal-text parsing. See openai.com/policies/privacy-policy.
• Open Food Facts — public crowdsourced barcode database; we query by barcode only.
• RevenueCat — manages Premium subscription entitlements; purchases themselves are processed by Apple's App Store or Google Play, not by us or RevenueCat directly. See revenuecat.com/privacy.
• MongoDB — encrypted cloud database where your profile, meals, and weight log are stored.
• Apple Health / smartwatch sync — only activated if you enable the toggle in Settings, on a native build of the app. Data flows directly between your device and HealthKit / Google Fit; we never share that data with third parties.

5. Data retention

• Your profile, meals, weight log, and uploaded photos are kept as long as your account exists.
• You can reset your profile inside the app (Settings → Reset profile), which removes the local link to your account on the device.
• To permanently delete all server-side data, email privacy@calclikai.com. We delete within 30 days.

6. Children

Calclik AI is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child has used the app, contact us and we will delete their data.

7. Security

We use HTTPS for all server traffic. Payment processing is delegated entirely to Apple's App Store and Google Play (both PCI-DSS Level 1 compliant), via RevenueCat. We do not store payment credentials. Your data is encrypted at rest.

8. Your rights

• Access — request a copy of all your data.
• Correction — edit any meal or profile field inside the app.
• Deletion — request permanent deletion via privacy@calclikai.com.
• Portability — request a JSON export of your meals and weight log.

9. Changes

We may update this policy. Material changes will be highlighted in the app on first launch after the update. The "Last updated" date at the top will always reflect the most recent revision.
